Number one thing to remember.....you can't do it ALL and still have an enjoyable experience, you'll be too tired!



WHAT MAKES THE WORLD MASSAGE FESTIVAL DIFFERENT?
FOR THE THERAPIST:
  • Each Festival offers a wide variety of workshops by the industry's best instructors from around the world.
  • Most of our classes are hands-on and we have more full-length classes than other conventions.
  • NO membership required - One registration price for everyone, not a higher price for "non members".
  • We answer our phones when you call and respond to emails quickly.
  • Festivals are scheduled 3 or more years in advance, so that you can make travel arrangements and business plans, contact friends to join you and so that we can find the best instructors and most affordable venues.
  • FREE admission to all registrants AND THEIR GUESTS to any entertainment, special programs and the exhibit hall.
  • FREE door prize ticket ... no raffle tickets sold here for door prizes!!!
  • Door prizes worth at least $15,000 are donated each year.
  • $500 cash giveaway each day in the vending hall at 12:30 pm. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!
  • Get an extra door prize ticket by bringing a stuffed animal, which will be donated to the local Ronald McDonald House!
  • Each registrant receives a FREE collector's edition of our program, "The Bridge Builders" and a certificate of participation for attending.
  • Payment plans (with NO interest) are available - make monthly payments.
  • Attend classes and have fun alongside Massage Therapy Hall of Fame members.
  • Register & attend 4 consecutive Festivals and your registration at the 5th one is FREE.
  • Register & attend 9 consecutive Festivals and NEVER AGAIN pay a registration fee to attend Festival.
  • We have a simple and published online refund policy, allowing you to transfer what you have paid to the next year if you find out at the last minute that you are unable to attend! No one else does that!
  • Our FREEDOM program allows therapists to pay a one-time fee of $1000 (which can be paid in monthly payments) and NEVER AGAIN pay a registration fee to attend Festival!

  • Our Christmas Eve contest - we give away a FREE registration to one winner from each state and one international winner. You must enter online and winners are drawn on Dec. 23, and announced on Dec. 24.
  • The Keith Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship was established and is awarded by Margie & Craig Schaeffer in memory of their son, Keith. The prize is a check for $1,000 that you may use to enhance your education or business. Applications must be submitted to the Foundation for Enhancing Communities. A panel will select the winner from the applications and the winner will be presented with the award by Margie & Craig during the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame ceremony on Monday, July 21 at 8pm.
FOR THE EXHIBITOR:
  • Festival offers the lowest booth price in the industry.
  • If you are a franchise business, there will only be ONE of your franchises at each Festival. Once you have registered and attended, you will have first shot at that space the following year.,
  • Our FREEDOM program for vendors allows you to pay a one-time fee of $2,000 and NEVER AGAIN pay a booth registration fee at Festival!
  • Register and attend 4 consecutive Festivals and your 5th year is FREE.

  • Sweet Serenity Massage for Charity by Darcy Neibaur, donates many door prizes each year. In addition, 100% of funds raised from massages and raffles of special items is donated each year to the Shriner Children's Hospital in Greenville, SC.
  • NO POLITICS!

WORLD MASSAGE FESTIVAL GROUP RATES - BE SURE TO ASK FOR OUR SPECIAL RATES WHEN MAKING YOUR ROOM RESERVTIONS AT 877-887-2261

Check-in time is after 3:00pm and checkout time is 11:00am.

In 2012, our room block sold out, so be sure to make your reservations early! Reservation requests received after the 6/20/2014 5:00PM cutoff will be confirmed on a space available basis at the prevailing rate.

Any changes from above stated check-in and checkout schedule will be subject to an early check-in fee of $12.00 plus tax, and checkout fee equal to one-half of the daily room rate paid by guest.

SCHEDULING YOUR CLASSES
  • When you schedule your classes, keep in mind that most states do not require more than 12 CE credits each year. So, even though we have world class instructors, you don't really have to take every class! The Festival is like the World's Fair...there is more than you can do. Take a deep breath, get the credits you need and enjoy the weekend without rushing about trying to fit in everything being offered. Yes, we have lots of great workshops.....but many of those instructors will be back at future Festivals again and again.....we are a family.

  • Please be sure to check the class description for all your classes to see what supplies are required for each class you are taking.

  • THERE WILL BE NO CLASS CHANGES PERMITTED AFTER JUNE 1, 2014. PLEASE DO NOT ASK!
WHAT ARE THE "FAST TRACK" CLASSES?
  • We first added these classes in 2010 as a way for therapists to get a "taste" of a particular technique or modality, so that you could decide if you wanted to invest in a longer program for them.

  • The classes are NOT intended to be full-blown, hands-on classes. They will be lecture & demo classes to give you a little more knowledge about the technique and the instructors.

  • Please do not, after having attended one of these "sampler" classes, go out and proclaim your ability to be able to perform these modalities as they are intended as extensive techniques. This is our effort to fulfill part of our mission statement: "To honor those who built the bridges for our profession, to educate the general public about massage, to educate therapists about different types of massage and to have fun."

MASSAGE TABLES REQUIRED?
  • Many classes do require students to bring along a massage table. If you are unable to bring a massage table, please be aware that you may be working on yoga mats or sharing 4 or more to a table in some classes. At this time, we do not have any more rental tables available. We ask that all those who are driving in, if it is at all possible, to bring a table with them.

    If you would like to rent a table in Las Vegas, please contact Skin Wellness Boutique Products and Services at 702-752-7340. We suggest calling early to reserve a rental table.

ATTENDING THE WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES
  • Each class will have a sign-in sheet. In order to receive credit for the class, you MUST sign in to each session of a class. For example, if the class is a 2-day class, you must sign in each morning and each afternoon of the class. Your instructor is required by NCBTMB to retain this list to prove that you attended, if the question ever comes up.

  • Please be on time. It is very distracting for an instructor to begin class and have people trailing in late. On time arrival for class will make it a better experience for all concerned. Time will be allotted for travel between classes.



WHY THE WORLD MASSAGE FESTIVAL?

"Champ and I attended the World Massage Festival this past week, held on the Queen Mary. Once again, the Festival itself was a blast. I look forward to attending every year!

I have often referred to the WMF as "the Woodstock of massage". That is because of the LOVE that happens there and the laid-back atmosphere...no politics allowed...just great education opportunities with a group of wonderful teachers and students, no fancy dress required, just show up and have a good time. I will be there every year until they throw me out! I didn't get a final count, but I'm also sure Darcy Neibaur raised quite a bit of money for Sweet Serenity, which helps the Shriner's Children's Hospitals, and there were about 150 stuffed animals collected for the Ronald McDonald House, too.

I hope to see you all next year at the Tuscany in Las Vegas, which is a fabulous place and the rooms are only $55 a night. I'll meet you in the casino!"
