Specific requirements for hosting the Festival are listed below.

Our main goal in producing the World Massage Festival is to be able to offer workshops by world class instructors at a price that EVERY massage therapist can afford.
Therefore, our main criteria for site selection WILL be the final total cost, with emphasis on lodging costs for attendees.

We select the site for Festival THREE years out, so that we can contract with the best instructors and get the lowest prices available for our attendees.
Our dates are flexible, April through September, except for dates near or during holidays, including Mother's Day & Father's Day.

Our preferred days for Festival are
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with arrival on Monday and departure on Friday

Meeting rooms
  • 7 rooms 3200 sq ft or larger
    • Each room will need 2 tables & 50 chairs
    • Water station, refreshed at noon each day
  • 1 room 12,000 sq ft or larger for exhibit hall
    • This room will need 50-60 tables & 100-120 chairs
    • Electricity to some booths
    • Complimentary wifi in room
Lodging
  • Guarantee 200+ rooms + 20 Staff rooms, but historically pick up 300+ rooms per night
  • Prefer rooms with 2 or more beds in them
  • Attendees to make their own room reservations
  • WMF to make reservations for staff
Food & Beverage
  • Normally have at least one catered event, usually a reception with cash bar
  • Other catered events dependent on sponsorships
Package Handling
  • Require that the hotel not charge us for carrying products, etc. into the vending hall. Vendors will do that themselves.
  • Prefer that fees for package handling and shipping to and from location be handled directly by the instructor/vendor with the hotel.
Audio/Visual
  • Prefer that we have the option to rent specific items from A/V, but not be required to use all hotel A/V equipment or none.
