Kelli Lene
2018 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame

Kelli Lene is the owner of Time Well Spent, a treatment, consulting and professional development company primarily serving the massage and healthcare industry. She has been involved in professional education since 1981 when she began her career as a corporate educator. Based on a need for personal fulfillment, she embarked on a new direction - as a massage therapist. She wanted a vocation that promised to challenge her personally and professionally; and as her grandmother charged her to do….. “Leave the world better than you found it”.

Not long into her massage career she began training in advanced manual therapies, focusing on the science of form and function. At the same time, Kelli pursued her passion of indigenous healing traditions. These two passions helped to weave together an approach to massage that honors the wisdom of the past and utilizes clinical innovations.

As a seeker of knowledge, she has participated in thousands of hours of training, many from Hall of Fame members. Due to this evolving body of knowledge and experience she has had opportunities to work as an advanced practitioner in many settings including: rehabilitation clinics, professional athletics, resorts and private practice. Kelli loves being a massage therapist and has, despite education and consulting responsibilities, consistently maintained a private practice.

It was her corporate background, her love of learning and desire to hang out with other massage therapists that led her to the path of educating and consulting. Since 1994 Kelli has worked with corporations, massage schools, manufacturers, resorts, hospitals, and therapy centers across the country and internationally. As an acknowledged industry expert she has contributed in just about every imaginable setting of professional development including coaching, curriculum development, editorial, blogging and presenting at professional conferences, continuing education workshops, and community events.

You might ask how one person can have so many diverse experiences. Simply put: she seized every opportunity to advance the understanding and application of massage therapy and wellness. This tenet has led her to her most fulfilling relationship of all, with Sacred Stone Medicine. Studying and sharing the traditions, techniques and science of Native American Healing Practices is the perfect culmination of lifetime of pursuit.

After 27 years she is even more passionate about massage therapy and massage therapists. She is dedicated to helping others weave their vocation and avocations so that every minute is time well spent and assures a life well lived.
