Jeni Spring

Jeni Spring has been a practitioner and fanatic of Ashiatsu since 2003, a Massage Therapist since 2002, and an Ashiatsu instructor since 2009. Trained by the founder and leading instructors of Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, Fijian Massage, Barefoot Sports Massage, and the Rossiter technique, Jeni uses her experience and knowledge in this growing field to help to build Barefoot Massage awareness around the nation, while working to educate both the public as well as the massage therapy profession about the benefits of gravity assisted massage!

To demonstrate that Ashiatsu can be a service that can enhance your massage practice, Jeni retired her hands in 2008 and has ONLY provided Barefoot Massage since. Her business, Heeling Sole, is a thriving barefoot massage specific, multi-therapist clinic and training center, offering a range of growth opportunities for Massage Therapists who want to focus on being as ambidexterous with their footwork as they are their hands while massaging.

Jeni has been blessed to present Ashiatsu trainings across the US as well as internationally. She has been published in Massage Magazine, the Journal of Massage Science, Les Nouvelles Magazine, as well as, and she loves sharing her love for the technique with the world. In real life if you can pry her away from her work, Jeni has fun paddle board racing and taking naps in her hammock with her chubby basset hound and beagle puppies.

Hands Free Ashiatsu: Beginner Barefoot Massage

8 CE Hours

Wave hello to your new favorite massage as you get ready to retire your hands (...or at least give them a break!)

Barefoot Massage is a growing technique in the profession that utilizes your feet as massage tools, rather than hands, while your body weight and gravity effortlessly provides your client with deeper than deep pressure. In this 8 hour class you will learn barefoot massage protocols for the upper body from the prone, sidelying and supine prospectives.

You'll learn how to use different aspects of your feet to address common tissue-issues in the cervical spine, thoracics and shoulder complex - in some cases massaging with your feet and hands simultaneously! No extra equipment is needed - just a sense of adventure, your favorite massage table, a barstool, and a sturdy wall behind your back for support.

This is a "Bar-less" protocol that does not require the use of overhead Ashiatsu bars, and it allows you to remain seated the entire session. Any LMT with soft, pedicured soles and a curious mind may attend!

Class supplies: Massage table (1 table for every 2 people), Linens (top/bottom sheet, face cradle cover, King Sized pillow case), Clean, unworn washable flipflops, Foot cleanser (sanitizing spray or wipes), Your favorite lubrication (creme, lotion, oil, etc)
