Elaine Stillerman, LMT, received her NYS license in 1978 and began her pioneering work in prenatal massage in 1980. She developed "MotherMassage (R): massage during pregnancy" in 1990 and teaches this professional certification course at massage schools, spas, and resorts all over the country. She has written 4 books: MotherMassage (Dell, 1992), The encyclopedia of bodywork (Facts On File, 1996), Prenatal massage: a textbook of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum bodywork (Mosby, 2008), and Modalities for massage and bodywork (Mosby, 2009). In 2013, she won the AFMTE "Educator of the Year" Award and was inducted into the WMF "Hall of Fame".
