Joe Lavin, is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Educator of Infant Massage, NCBTMB Nationally (US) Approved Massage Instructor, IMA Educational Ambassador and Certified International Teacher, Certified Phenomenal Touch Practitioner®, Certified Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy Practitioner®, Certified Sarga Practitioner®, Certified Reiki Master & Teacher as well as being certified in IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) and Contemporary Cupping Methods. Joe owns several boutique massage practices and a massage school in Seattle, Washington and he absolutely loves what he does!

Transitions, Twists and Turns Continuing Education Course
4 CE Contact Hours

Come and learn some of the most innovative and creative transitions for elegantly moving your clients around, into and out of different positions on the massage table. You will also learn how to move your clients from prone to supine, supine to prone, side lying to sitting without their help. These transitions are great for clients that need help turning over, sitting up and lying on their side and they will literally amaze the clients that don’t need help with any of this but have never had anyone do it for them. Finally, you will learn how to use Negative Space (anything below the top of the massage table) to do some profound and very therapeutic work on your clients. We will cover the following techniques and concepts in this 8 hour course:
  • Moving a client around the massage table with elegance and grace
  • Turning a client from prone to supine without their help
  • Turning a client from supine to prone without their help
  • Transitioning your client between side lying, sitting and laying on the table.
  • North South Changeups with and without client assistance
  • Using Negative Space to work with and on your client
We will cover the following techniques and concepts in the 4 hour course:

This class is for intermediate to advanced licensed massage therapists who are in good physical condition with no contraindications in terms of mobility (lifting, twisting, etc.). This course is highly interactive and the majority of time will be focused on actual practice of the techniques and principles taught during the lecture and demonstration portions. Please contact the instructor if you are not sure that you should take the course.
