Hall of Fame

Code of Conduct & Community Values

Our Purpose

The World Massage Festivals Hall of Fame exists to honor individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the global massage and bodywork community. We are committed to preserving the integrity, professionalism, cultural richness, and healing intent of massage in all its forms.

This Code of Conduct and Community Values applies to all inductees, nominees, organizers, presenters, volunteers, partners, and attendees connected to the Hall of Fame and its affiliated events or platforms.

Our Community Values

  1. Respect & Human Dignity

We honor the inherent worth of every person. All interactions must be rooted in mutual respect, courtesy, and professionalism, regardless of nationality, culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, or professional background.

  1. Consent & Boundaries

Massage and bodywork are founded on trust. Clear, informed, and enthusiastic consent is essential at all times. We uphold firm personal and professional boundaries and respect the right of anyone to say no, change their mind, or withdraw consent without pressure or consequence.

  1. Professional Integrity

Hall of Fame members and community participants are expected to act with honesty, accountability, and ethical responsibility. We value accurate representation of credentials, experience, and scope of practice, and we reject exploitation, misrepresentation, or abuse of authority.

  1. Safety & Well-Being

We are committed to providing environments—physical, emotional, and digital—that are safe and supportive. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or harm of any kind will not be tolerated.

  1. Cultural Appreciation & Global Inclusion

Massage traditions come from diverse cultures and lineages. We celebrate this diversity with humility and respect, avoiding cultural appropriation and acknowledging the origins and communities behind the practices we share.

  1. Learning, Growth & Collaboration

We believe in lifelong learning, open dialogue, and the generous exchange of knowledge. Differences in perspective are welcome when shared respectfully and constructively.

  1. Service to the Greater Good

The massage profession is a healing art and a service to humanity. We encourage contributions that uplift communities, advance ethical practice, and promote health, compassion, and connection worldwide.

Code of Conduct

All members of the World Massage Festivals Hall of Fame community agree to:

  • Act in a manner that reflects positively on the massage profession and the Hall of Fame.
  • Maintain professional behavior during all events, ceremonies, online spaces, and related activities.
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, bullying, or any form of sexualized or exploitative behavior.
  • Respect confidentiality and privacy when shared by others.
  • Follow all applicable local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Cooperate with event organizers and comply with venue policies and safety guidelines.

Accountability & Enforcement

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in corrective action, including warnings, removal from events, revocation of Hall of Fame recognition, or permanent exclusion from community participation.

Reports of misconduct will be taken seriously, handled with discretion, and reviewed in alignment with principles of fairness, safety, and respect for all parties involved.

Our Commitment

By participating in or being recognized by the World Massage Festivals Hall of Fame, you affirm your commitment to these values and standards. Together, we protect the legacy, credibility, and future of massage as a global healing profession.

Enforcement & Disciplinary Action

The World Massage Festivals Hall of Fame is committed to upholding its Code of Conduct and Community Values in a consistent, fair, and transparent manner.

When a potential violation is reported or observed, the organization reserves the right to initiate a review process. This may include gathering information, speaking with involved parties, and consulting relevant witnesses or documentation.

Possible Disciplinary Actions

Depending on the severity, frequency, and nature of the violation, disciplinary actions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Required education, training, or corrective measures
  • Removal from specific events or activities
  • Suspension of participation or privileges
  • Revocation of Hall of Fame status or recognition
  • Permanent exclusion from Hall of Fame–affiliated events, platforms, or honors

Serious violations—particularly those involving harassment, abuse, exploitation, fraud, or breach of consent—may result in immediate action without prior warning.

Reporting & Review Process

Reports of misconduct may be submitted by participants, organizers, volunteers, or members of the public through designated reporting channels.

All reports will be:

  • Taken seriously
  • Handled with discretion and confidentiality where possible
  • Reviewed in good faith and without retaliation

The World Massage Festivals Hall of Fame retains full discretion in determining outcomes, while striving to act with fairness, cultural sensitivity, and respect for all parties involved.

Reapplication & Reinstatement

Individuals who have been suspended or had recognition revoked may, in certain cases, be eligible to apply for reinstatement.

Reapplication Considerations

Reapplication or reinstatement may be considered when:

  • A defined period of time has passed
  • Responsibility for prior actions has been acknowledged
  • Demonstrated behavioral change, education, or remediation has occurred
  • Reinstatement does not compromise the safety, integrity, or trust of the community

Reinstatement is not guaranteed and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The decision of the World Massage Festivals Hall of Fame review body is final.

Agreement & Acknowledgment

Participation in World Massage Festivals Hall of Fame activities—including nomination, induction, attendance, partnership, or representation—constitutes agreement to abide by this Code of Conduct and Community Values.

By engaging with the Hall of Fame, individuals affirm that they:

  • Have read and understood this Code
  • Agree to uphold its values and standards
  • Accept accountability for their conduct
  • Understand that violations may result in disciplinary action

This agreement applies across all Hall of Fame–related events, communications, online platforms, and affiliated spaces.
