2023 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame Member


Shamaya Chah, L.M.T. has been a Licensed Massage Therapist and Massage Educator for more than 40 years. She is a provider of continuing education for the states of Florida, Texas, New York and a National provider with the National CertiFication Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She has written numerous Massage Therapy curriculums for Community Colleges and Massage Therapy Schools in the State of Florida. Her areas of expertise are Human sciences, Anatomy and Physiology. She is a recipient of the World Massage Festival Hall Of Fame award for 2022.

She is also a certiFied cannabis clinician and holds 3 patents for a transdermal, phonophoretic application and a cannabis compounded formula to heal ligaments



TMJ - Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction
8 CE Credit Hours

Many dentists are seeking professionals specifically trained in intraoral manual therapy applications for Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction. The techniques taught throughout this course have a high rate of TMD resolution that many oral doctors look for.

This is a deep therapeutic application to the neck, shoulders, intra-oral, cranial and extraocular muscles. It is designed to utilize the mechanical and physiological processes of the musculoskeletal system to correct and rehabilitate injured, traumatized or fatigued or overused muscles of these areas. It will help a client/patient to manage pain and increase quality and well being. This class is 8 hours of massage continuing education hours.

Learner Objectives - After taking this class, the student will be able to:
  • Understand the basic principles of neuromuscular physiology.
  • Recognize specific muscular and biomechanical dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint and surrounding supportive structures.
  • Understand the mechanics of TMJ and postural dynamics that influence the joint.
  • Apply the appropriate techniques to the involved areas to regain homeostasis and proper biomechanical functioning of the involved musculature.
  • Recognize and deduce problematic areas and risks associated with TMD.
  • Understand and name specific muscles being treated, including origin, insertion, actions, the bones and their landmarks so treatment to these areas can maximize biomechanical functions.
  • Recognize indications and contraindications for the affected areas.
  • Self-care for TMJ.

Targeted Vibrational Therapy 1
8 CE Credit Hours

The use of vibrational and percussive modalities for the therapeutic outcome of Orthopedic/Medical massage to the whole body.
Learning Objectives
  1. 1. Students will learn and understand muscle physiology and connective tissue
  2. physiology.
  3. 2. Students will learn and understand sensory receptors/proprioceptors.
  4. 3. Students will learn and understand the physiology of stretching.
  5. 4. Students will learn and understand contraindications for vibrational and percussive
  6. therapy.
  7. 5. Students will learn and understand the use of vibrational and percussive tools.
