In the competitive and ever-evolving world of massage therapy, few practitioners successfully bridge the gap between high-level athletics and clinical therapeutic excellence like Marie-Claude Dumont. As the founder of Clinique Masso-Kiné-Ortho in Saint-Eustache, Quebec, Dumont has become a prominent figure in the Canadian massage industry, recognized for her dynamic “ninja-like” approach and her rapid ascent to international acclaim.
A Foundation in High-Performance Athletics
Marie-Claude’s journey is deeply rooted in the world of sports. Long before she was a therapist, she was a high-level gymnast, earning three gold medals at the Quebec Games. This early background in gymnastics provided her with an intimate understanding of body mechanics, flexibility, and the physical demands of elite performance.
Even today, her athletic spirit remains central to her identity. She is an active player in a competitive women’s contact American football league and serves as a first-aid responder for Football Québec, Beyond her clinic and teaching work, Marie-Claude is actively involved in American football, working with high school, university, professional, and NFL athletes to optimize recovery and performance.
The Career Pivot: Family and Passion
Despite her lifelong love for sports and wellness, Marie-Claude’s professional transition into massage therapy came later in life. In 2016, while in her thirties and raising three children—two of whom have special needs—she underwent a period of deep introspection. Seeking a career that would allow her a greater presence for her family while returning to her passions, she chose massage therapy.
She trained extensively at the Collège de massothérapie Rive-Nord, mastering Swedish massage, kinesitherapy, orthotherapy, and deep tissue techniques. Her thirst for knowledge led her further to study Thai massage at École l’Hêtre and advanced techniques like Cupping with Bruce Bentley and Gua Sha at Institut Axis.

The “Ninja” Signature Style
What sets Marie-Claude apart is her signature massage style, which she describes as a “dance of harmony.” Often referred to as a “little ninja” by those who watch her work, she is known for using her entire body as a lever—sometimes even standing on the table to perform powerful mobilizations. Her approach blends Swedish and Thai techniques to restore balance and flexibility, turning a therapeutic treatment into an extraordinary experience.
Today, through Clinique Masso-Kiné-Ortho, Marie-Claude Dumont continues to inspire both her clients and fellow professionals. Her story is a powerful reminder that it is never too late to realign your career with your passions and that, with enough devotion, a “second act” can lead to world-class success.
